OPINION

PER CURIAM:

This is an appeal from a conviction, upon a jury verdict, of robbery with a deadly weapon.

Several days before trial, appellant filed a written motion to represent himself at trial. The motion cited Faretta v. California, 422 U.S. 806, 95 S.Ct. 2525, 45 L.Ed.2d 562 (1975), and was accompanied by the deputy public defender's request to be relieved as counsel.
