Regina McDermott was injured on April 29, 1980, while she was riding as a fare-paying passenger on a NOPSI bus which rear-ended an automobile while both the bus and the automobile were travelling east on Chef Menteur Highway in the City of New Orleans. Ms. McDermott sued NOPSI, and NOPSI then filed a third party action against the alleged driver of the automobile, George Bozonier.
