The plaintiff Lamb brought habeas corpus proceedings in federal district court to challenge 1944, 1947, and 1958 convictions in Texas state court. 28 U.S.C. § 2254. The district court dismissed his application on alternate grounds with respect to the 1944 and 1947 convictions. An evidentiary hearing was held on Lamb's 1958 conviction: Lamb was not represented by counsel at that hearing, and his application concerning the 1958 conviction was...
