Alvin Laughlin (plaintiff) brought this workmen's compensation action to recover disability benefits, medical expenses, and penalties and attorney's fees from defendant, City of Crowley.

Trial of plaintiff's action resulted in a judgment in his favor ordering defendant to pay him disability benefits at the rate of $77.33 per week from August 21, 1980, until further orders were received from the court, together with penalties of 12% and reasonable...
