Defendant, Ruth Lee Meredith, was charged by bill of indictment, on September 11, 1979, with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, a violation of La.R.S. 14:62.2. Defendant was tried before a jury of twelve which found her guilty of attempted simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, La.R.S. 14:27, 14:62.2, on December 8, 1979. After a hearing, the defendant was sentenced on March 5, 1980, to three years at hard labor...
