Defendant was convicted by a jury of receiving and concealing stolen property over $100, MCL 750.535; MSA 28.803. He was sentenced to 1-1/2 to 5 years imprisonment and appeals as of right.

While on routine patrol, Deputy Kenneth Bailey of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department stopped defendant for a traffic violation in the Township of Northfield. Defendant was unable to produce a registration...
