The defendant was charged by information on February 5, 1980, in Winnebago County with the offenses of armed robbery and home invasion. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, pars. 18-2 and 12-11(a)(1).) Both are Class X felonies. He was convicted by a jury and sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 12 years for each offense, the sentences to be served concurrently. He appeals...
