Plaintiff, City National Bank of Detroit (CNB), issued an irrevocable letter of credit to defendant partnership, Westland Towers Apartments, in the amount of $250,947. When the partnership refused to pay back this amount, plaintiff instituted suit against the partnership, the partners, and the partners' wives.
