On July 16, 1979 — just four days prior to expiration of the applicable statute of limitations — plaintiffs Baker, husband and wife, instituted this action in trespass by filing their complaint against defendant Pittman to recover for injuries sustained in a vehicle accident which occurred on July 20, 1977.
