Dodd was on probation on four separate third-degree felonies when he was charged with the second degree murder of Arthur Griffin. After a combined hearing on the merits of both the alleged probation violation and a defense motion to suppress in the substantive murder case, the trial judge ruled that Dodd's confession, which was the only evidence against him, had been secured as a result of a fourth amendment...
