The grand jury of East Baton Rouge Parish returned a true bill of indictment against the defendant, Kelvin R. Smith, charging him with second degree murder of Arthur Camel in violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. At the conclusion of the trial the jury found the defendant guilty as charged by a vote of ten to two. Thereafter he was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension...
