At issue is whether or not the landowners in this expropriation proceeding are entitled to attorney fees.

On December 28, 1978, the City of Lafayette (the City) filed suit to expropriate a parcel of land owned by Camille and Mildred Delhomme (landowners), pursuant to La.R.S. 19:101-115. The City sought 11,576.02 square feet of a triangular tract of land with 37,706.12 square feet of area in order to extend North St. Antoine Street. Included...
