This cause is before the Court on the petition of William Lewis Leslie, Jr., for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. On July 12, 1976 a state grand jury returned an indictment charging petitioner with first degree murder for the unlawful killing of one Michele Tanasy.
