Louisiana Highway 48 (Jefferson Highway) is a four-lane highway which runs through the City of Harahan and which is intersected by South Cumberland Street. On November 22, 1977, Albert A. Ricker, Jr. was operating his motorcycle in a westerly direction on Louisiana Highway 48 (towards Kenner).
