Appellant Walter (Hal) Metz stands convicted of a drug conspiracy offense, in violation of 21 U.S.C.A. § 846, and has been sentenced to twelve years imprisonment.1 He now appeals the trial court's denial of his motion for new trial, particularly without an evidentiary hearing.
