The defendant was charged with violation of R.S. 14:95.1, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The bill of information recited that defendant had been convicted in 1976 of simple burglary, which is one of the crimes enumerated in R.S. 14:95.1. Defendant filed a motion to quash the information on the basis that the prior conviction was obtained through a guilty plea that did not conform with the standards established in Boykin v. Alabama...
