Following a bench trial, defendant was convicted of voluntary manslaughter (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 9-2) and sentenced to five years probation with the first 348 days to be served as periodic imprisonment. At the conclusion of the State's evidence, defendant was found temporarily unfit to stand trial, and the trial court suspended the trial until defendant was found fit...
