WATSON, Justice.*

On September 9, 1975, defendant Charles Cole allegedly battered Billy Ray Crain with a baseball bat. He was indicted for aggravated battery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:34 on February 21, 1978, and arraigned on July 31, 1979. On November 8, 1979, he filed a Motion to Quash the indictment because of the delay of almost four years between the offense and arraignment.1
