On October 21, 1967, claimant, a security officer employed by the employer Cornell University, was allegedly struck by a full 16-ounce beer can while assisting in crowd control involving a student demonstration. On July 2, 1974, he underwent open heart surgery to remove an aneurysm of the apex of his heart.
