Judgment, as amended, reversed, on the law and as a matter of discretion in the interest of justice, and new trial ordered.

The People concede error and agree that a new trial is required because the trial court improperly limited the cross-examination of a police informant and prosecution witness, who had been convicted of drug sales in 1972 and 1977. In 1972 the informant had served a prison term, but in 1977 she pleaded guilty and received a sentence of probation...
