Plaintiff, as subrogee of its insured, seeks damages caused by fire to a building used as a furniture store. Originally named as defendants were the lessee, several manufacturers of flourescent light fixtures and the City of Sulphur, Louisiana (the City). Prior to trial, all defendants except the City were dismissed. The issue at trial was whether the fire was caused in part by the negligence of the City through employees of the Sulphur Fire Department...
