At the age of sixteen, George William Barb purchased a small, used gasoline powered engine for five dollars from Robert Wallace for use in a go-cart. A short while after George returned home he attempted to start the engine, which was mounted on a sturdy base at the time of purchase. Almost immediately upon starting, the engine exploded and caused severe injuries to George...
