In this 42 U.S.C. § 19831 action, the jury awarded Jack Thompson, a former Alabama Highway Department pilot damages in the amount of $20,000 for deprivation of his constitutional rights under the first and fourteenth amendments by Dan H. Turner, assistant highway director. In addition, the trial court awarded Thompson $8,000 in attorneys' fees under the Civil Rights Attorney's Fees Awards Act of 1976, 42 U.S...
