The defendant, Thomas Ray Jernigan, was charged by bill of information with the crime of possession of marijuana in violation of La.R.S. 40:966(C). The trial court denied the defendant's motion to suppress evidence seized as a result of a warrantless search of his vehicle. We granted this Writ of Certiorari to review the trial court's finding that the warrantless search was justified as a valid inventory...
