Bruce Shannon was convicted of attempted second degree murder and sentenced to serve forty years at hard labor. He appealed from both his conviction and sentence, relying on twenty-one assignments of error. While the appeal was pending before this Court, defendant filed a motion for a new trial based upon newly discovered evidence.
