Appellant Porter Hilton brought this action on behalf of himself and a class "composed of Negro persons who are employed, or might be employed, by Wyman-Gordon Company", a Worcester, Massachusetts manufacturer of heavy metal forgings. Appellants claimed that Wyman-Gordon maintained employment policies and practices which discriminated against members of the class on account of their race in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964...
