These appeals present a number of questions, the most important of which are raised by both defendants and involve (1) the legality of a warrantless search of defendants' military billets and seizure therefrom of various items by military authorities and the ultimate delivery of some of these items to civilian authorities for use as evidence against defendants; and (2) the consolidation for trial of the charges against each defendant.
