The Jackson Parish Grand Jury indicted Cheryl Qualls for the aggravated kidnapping of Willa Cone. La.Rev.Stat. 14:44. As a result of a plea bargain when the case was called for trial, defendant Qualls agreed to plead guilty to attempted aggravated kidnapping, reserving her right to appeal adverse rulings of the trial court. Thereafter she was sentenced to imprisonment for twenty years at hard labor, to run consecutively to any other sentences...
