This appeal presents the question of whether the trial court erred in rejecting a petition for adoption of Karl David Edwards, Jr., eight years of age, by his father and stepmother.

Petitioner, Karl David Edwards, the legitimate father, was married on November 20, 1976, to the other petitioner, Sharon L. O'Bryan Priestas Edwards. The Edwards couple has resided in Louisiana since February of 1977. The child's mother is Martha Grace Bryan Baer...
