Defendant, initially indicted for the first degree murder of his cousin's fifteen year old daughter, was ultimately tried pursuant to an amended indictment charging second degree murder, found guilty as charged and sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence for forty years.
