This suit was brought as the result of a fire which took place in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bertram Duplechain on the night of April 17, 1976, or in the early morning hours of April 18, 1976. The fire was alleged to have been caused by a defective clothes dryer manufactured by The Maytag Company, the defendant-appellant in this suit, and purchased by the Duplechains from Home Discount Center about seventeen...
