The case involves a large number of alleged errors by the district court in a criminal trial where the defendant was convicted both of attempted tax evasion in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7201 and conspiracy to evade the payment of taxes in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371. Defendant's chief arguments deal with the admissibility of the hearsay declarations of a co-conspirator not on trial, the propriety of some of the prosecutor's closing...
