Petitioner's late husband, Adrian De Leon, was employed by the Fire Department of the City of Buffalo as a fire investigator. He was a member of the Policemen's and Firemen's Retirement System. On January 22, 1975, De Leon was engaged in the performance of his duties at the scene of a fire.
