The respondents, owners of a tract of land in Platte County, Missouri, filed suit to quiet and determine title to a smaller tract lying to the east and contiguous to their land. They claimed ownership of the land by adverse possession. The appellants were the owners of a tract of land lying to the east of respondents' and they also claimed ownership and title to the strip of land in dispute.
