Plaintiffs, Lee and Doris Guillot, filed this suit for damages for the wrongful death of their son, John William Guillot. They allege that, while operating a motorcycle, he was struck and killed by a vehicle negligently driven by Allen J. Bonnette. The defendants, (1) the State of Louisiana, through the State Police and (2) the Department of Public Safety, are sued on the basis that due to Bonnette's prior convictions for driving while intoxicated...
