This action arose from an accident which occurred in a residential area of Slidell, Louisiana, on April 20, 1969, involving a vehicle driven by defendant, Terry D. Dorsett, and the plaintiff's minor son, Brian Fallon. It was the plaintiff's contention that the accident occurred when Brian, who was stopped by the side of the road, was struck in the head by the handle of a lawnmower which was being hauled in the trunk of the defendant's vehicle.
