Appellants Pierce and Jackson were tried together and convicted of robbery with a deadly weapon and numerous related crimes, by a jury in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County. The testimony at trial indicated that the appellants and two other subjects attempted to rob the Hechinger's Department Store in Marlow Heights, Maryland.
