Plaintiff, Robert M. Dupas, Jr., filed suit seeking recovery of damages for injuries sustained as a result of being struck by a New Orleans Police Department vehicle driven by Officer William O. Brown on the night of October 15, 1973. Defendants in the suit are the City of New Orleans, owner of the police vehicle, Brown, the driver of the vehicle, and Travelers Insurance Company, the liability insurer of the city.
