The evidence before the Grand Jury consisted mainly of testimony of several police officers and the written statement of the defendant. Viewed in the light most favorable to the People (see CPL 190.65, subd 1, par [a]; 70.10, subd 1), the evidence establishes that the defendant met his friend Elander Lewis in the early evening of October 15, 1976.
