This is a direct appeal in a criminal action in which the defendant-appellant, Gary F. Holmes, was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm (K.S.A. 21-4204 [1] [b]). The facts are undisputed and are as follows: On May 28, 1975, in case number 29,651 in the district court of Shawnee county the defendant Holmes entered a plea of nolo contendere to the offense of attempted aggravated robbery...
