Darryl J. Moore was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder, a violation of R.S. 14:30.1, for the murder of Vicki Diane Nassar. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. A jury of twelve found him guilty as charged by a vote of ten to two.
