An April 8, 1975 indictment by the Caddo Parish Grand Jury charged that Jimmy Ray Johnson, John L. Davis and Rosell Palmer murdered Thomas Williams on March 6, 1975 while engaged in the perpetration of armed robbery, contrary to Article 30 of the Criminal Code.1 The indictment was later dismissed as to Johnson and Davis, who appeared at Palmer's trial as witnesses for the State.
