At a general election held in Mansfield, Ohio, on November 4, 1975, among the contests was one for the office of mayor of that city. Incumbent mayor, Richard A. Porter, received 6,858 votes, a margin of 17 over the 6,841 received by challenger Dan Martin. An official recount was requested and received by Mr. Martin.
