Defendant was arrested on October 23, 1975 for making a false statement in an attempted acquisition of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6). Out on bail, he thereafter went into state custody to await possible parole revocation proceedings which had been activated by his arrest on the federal charge.
