DOUGLAS, Judge.

This is an appeal from a conviction of voluntary manslaughter. The jury assessed punishment at fifteen years.

Connie Lee Jones, the two-year-old step-daughter of appellant, was killed. The main witness for the State was Mary Frances Kusenberger who was the mother of the child and wife of appellant at the time of the homicide. Hereafter she will be referred to as Mary Frances.
