The appellant, Andrew B. Bloom, was convicted by a jury of possessing with intent to distribute and with distributing heroin on three separate occasions, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). Bloom was sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment, to be followed by a special parole term of five years, and was fined $15,000.
