Appellants, who state that they are Sunni (orthodox) Muslims, claim that they are denied the right to practice their religion at the Auburn Correctional Facility, where they are inmates. In March 1975, they brought an action in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York seeking declaratory, injunctive and monetary relief against appellees Robert J. Henderson, Superintendent of the prison, and Benjamin Ward, Commissioner...
