The sole issue troubling our dissenting brethren is whether the contraband presented in evidence on the People's case was introduced with a showing of a chain of evidence sufficient to prove that the dangerous drugs (marijuana and heroin) presented at the trial were the same as those possessed by the defendant at the time of his arrest. When the drugs were seized from the defendant in 1970, they were placed in two suitcases by the police. They were taken to a police laboratory...
