Late at night on December 1, 1972, Lloyd Joseph Guidry and his wife, Carol Ann Naquin, had an unwitnessed, unexplained, one-vehicle accident on Louisiana Highway 1, just below Golden Meadow, Louisiana, wherein the vehicle left the roadway, hit a utility pole cutting it in two, and came to rest in a bayou.
