Appellants Thomas McNamara and Alphonse M. Merolla1 were convicted, after a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Judge Dooling presiding, of conspiring to delay, obstruct and affect interstate commerce in violation of the Hobbs Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1951.2
